Netball in Gibraltar was revived in 1991. From the humble beginnings of just eight senior teams, netball has become the leading ladies' team sport in Gibraltar with 28 teams in our senior league and 24 in our senior league making it the most popular sport for women and girls on the Rock! Gibraltar Netball believes in promoting, organising and developing netball in Gibraltar and aims to provide opportunities for players, coaches and umpires.

 Gibraltar Netball Association became a full member of Europe Netball in October 1995. We achieved our first ranking in May 2012. Our current World Ranking is 33.

We have THE BEST army of volunteers which are the SUPERSTARS of our sport. It is quite astonishing the amount of work done by our team of volunteers. We could not do any of this without their constant hard work and eagerness to keep taking our sport to the next level. Our population is 33,000 and we are lucky to be supported by our Government for our local Netball but also to host the best international tournaments on the Rock. We are very proud and excited to host the World Youth Cup in 2025! 

We have a fantastic pool of Europe Netball accredited C, B and A Award Umpires supported by our upcoming Fundamental umpires.
Development of our upcoming coaches starts with Europe Netball Level 1 in Coaching, progressing to UKCC L1, L2 and L3.

Local Netball

For our junior players we have our weekly Junior League with 4 Divisions and 24 teams in total - that is approximately 300 junior players. Every Monday, we run our Development Academy for players aged 7 to 16 years old. These are run in age groups. There are already a total of 106 players signed up for our Development Academy. This year we have also introduced Netball Tots for players aged 3-6 and have a total of 78 Tots signed up.
For our senior players we have our weekly Senior League fixtures with 4 Divisions and 28 teams in total - that is approximately 377 senior players. Opportunities are available for those players wanting to take their netball further through our pathway sessions, so get involved!
Walking Netball has also recently become popular and we are delighted to see it growing from strength to strength.
